The Witcher 3 Has Gone Gold!

Anyone else been waiting for Witcher 3? The much-delayed and much-anticipated game has finally gone gold! In fact, it’s actually gone gold ahead of its (delayed) schedule, which has a release date set of May 19, 2015. Preorders for PC will likely be open within the next couple of weeks.

The Witcher 3 announced its system requirements in January, and it’s a much heavier hitter than Dragon Age. Recommended system requirements are:

  • Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3,4 GHz
  • AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
  • Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770
  • AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
  • RAM 8GB
  • 64 Bit Operating System

That’s twice as much RAM as Dragon Age: Inquisition recommended — though if you got DAI to run on 4GB of RAM I’d love to talk to you about warping the fabric of reality.

Witcher 3 is also special for its huge amount of free DLC content, which will be released over a period of weeks one at a time.
